The municipality of Argao is Located southeast of Cebu City,
founded in 1608. Argao has grown from a sleepy fish farming town to a tourist
destination today in many provinces. Argao remains one of the few towns that
still have traces of Spanish and early American influences. It is evident not only
from the old church but venerable houses made of tisa, which is said to have been imported straight from Spain.
Aside from its been a historic city, Argao is also blessed with an
abundance of nature’s attractions from beaches clear water and white sands,
and intricate caving systems where only a portion has been explored by cave experts, majestic and lush-green forests seated at the top of Argao’s famed Mt. Lantoy, where also an abundance of rare wildlife reside. Argao is exactly midway between Cebu City and the southern tip of Cebu island, Santander. It is comprised of 45 barangays, namely: Alambijud, Anajao, Apo, Balaas, Balisong, Binlod, Bogo, Butong, Bug-ot, Bulasa, Calagasan, Canbantug, Canbanua, Cansuje, Capio-an, Casay, Catang, Colawin, Conalum, Guiwanon, Gutlang, Jampang, Jomgao, Lamacan, Langtad, Langub, Lapay, Lengigon, Linut-od, Mabasa, Mandilikit, Mompeller, Panadtaran, Poblacion, Sua, Sumaguan, Tabayag, Talaga, Talaytay, Talo-ot, Tiguib, Tulang, Tulic, Ubaub and Usmad.
How To Get There
By public buses or V-Hires (vans) from the Cebu South Terminal in Cebu City with an estimated travel time of about 2 hours.
